POE-try on the web

One of our middle school teachers, George Mack, developed a project with his students last year that pertained to Edgar Allan Poe and his poetry. Students used iMovie and PowerPoint to develop a visual representation of various Poe poems. The webmaster of House Of Usher discovered the students’ work online and decided to feature and link to it from his web site. George is quoted on the site: “Last year my students in 8th grade created QuickTime movie and PowerPoint presentations based on some of Poe’s poems. I think some, such as the coliseum project, deserve some more exposure, as in your site. You have a great site for Poe enthusiasts, I direct my students to it each year, and I thought you might like to see some of the interpretations of Poe’s poetry by eighth graders.” I don’t know if we’ve ever had one of our projects featured somewhere on the web. So that’s pretty neat. George plans on doing the project again this year.

George also does a really nice job with his class and team web sites. Check them out!
