Blogging as Reflection

Almost two years ago I started this blog. At that time my main goal was to experience the act of blogging and in the process attempt to understand the art of blogging. In the initial stages, I was blogging daily, sometimes forcing it, but with the idea of establishing a routine and working through those days when you really feel you have little to say. That lasted for awhile, and then I started to not feel real reflective about my job. So the blogging really died down..to probably a few times a month.

For almost a year now I’ve been working in a new district (at least new for me), and I feel as I sit back and reflect on the past 10 months that I’ve grown a tremendous amount. Much of that is due to the refreshing circumstances I am working in, but also because my self-reflection skills have been challenged and developed along the way. Unfortunately, much of that reflection is fleeting. Sure, it helped me to move ideas in new directions at the time, but I didn’t force myself to reflect in writing. I could have done this better by blogging more frequently.

Every day has at least some thought process or circumstance I should really try to capture. So I’ve decided that my blog here is going to take on a new form. I am planning on blogging daily, probably in both significant and insignificant ways, reflecting on the challenges and success that I encounter. Here’s hoping I have better success at doing this than I’ve met in the past !
