Some fun coming up…
I haven’t been doing as much blogging as I thought I was in this new year. But there are some upcoming things that I am looking forward to. First, I’ll be going back to Italy over the Easter break this year. I had gone with Emmaus Chamber Harmony back in 2004. It was definitely the best trip I ever organized. Everything was good about it, and I just loved the experience of being in Italy. This time, I’m going with the a singing group from Emmaus High School, but only as a tag-along. That will mean I should be able to really enjoy the trip since it will be all pleasure and no work! I think it would be nice to get a decent digital camera and post picture up on the blog along the way. We’ll be leaving March 31 and returning on Easter Sunday. I can taste the food already!
Another Emmaus connection.... Rita Cortez and Jill Keubler, musical director and director of Emmaus High School’s musicals, invited me to conduct the performances of their production of Aida this coming March. Initially, I was a little hesitant because I wasn’t sure what kind of time I could give after school. But I’ll just be “showing up” for two weeks before the show. My only responsibility is to direct the orchestra...they’ll be doing all the rehearsal. Sounds like a deal to me! I stopped by yesterday and Rita was very excited about how things are progressing. I’m looking forward to stopping in again on Monday to actually hear how things are going.
