Quakertown Interview

I had an interview today in Quakertown for a Senior Instructional Technology Coordinator position. I thought the interview went extremely well, from my perspective. I felt good that I was about to attach some real life examples to the points I was making in the interview. That made me feel good, because I know that I can sound quite theoretical at times.
I wouldn’t want to work there, though. And I am guessing they found me a little high-octane. If for nothing else, it was a good experience. I feel totally comfortable with any question, and there is just about nothing they can throw at me that I haven’t already thought about, or done for that matter.
The interview also showed me how good we are in East Penn. While we are often times critical of ourselves, we really are moving ahead in a lot of good ways. This district couldn’t say the same thing. At least that’s the impression I got.
If there is a second interview, I’ll certainly go back. Again, another good experience to have had. But I don’t think I’ll be getting that call. I don’t think they would know what to do with me!

Random thoughts for a Sunday…

I was thinking about going to NYC today, but that fell through. And that’s OK…I probably shouldn’t go anyway. Instead, I’ll hang around here and work on some things for my Columbia class. Sort of throw myself into that I guess.
I have an interview in Quakertown tomorrow morning. I doubt this is the right job for me, but I’ll write about it tomorrow. I drove down there last night, just to make sure I could find the place. I wasn’t impressed. The district office seems to be located in the rear of the high school, which looked pretty dumpy. I also had trouble even finding the address on the Internet. Apparently, they haven’t even thought about putting the address on their web site. We’ll see how everything pans out.

Back into the cold…

The four days in warmer weather (it was warmer, but nothing like summer) are over and it is now back to the deep freeze. Our last day in Orlando was, well, cloudy if not rainy, and most of the time cool. But not as cool as the 15 degrees in Philadelphia when we landed after only two hours in the air. (It is amazing how close Florida is to us, in terms of flying time.) Then there was the late-night drive home to the Lehigh Valley, which was at about 5 degrees…so much cooler.
While at the conference we all got HP digital cameras. So I’m hoping to take some photos and post them to the blog. It’s a pretty decent camera. Around Christmas, I was looking at digital cameras and was thinking of buying one. I’m glad I waited….
