Thanks for visiting! A few facts about me:
- MA degree from Teachers College, Columbia University in Computing and Education - Technology Leadership (2005). I am currently a student in the Ed.D. program in Educational & Organizational Leadership at University of Pennsylvania (2010).
- Bachelors Degree in Music (BMus) from Moravian College where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors in 1987.
- Pennsylvania teaching certifications in Music K-12 and as an Instructional Technology Specialist (received through Pennsylvania State University, 2002).
- Kodaly Certificate from Westminster Choir College (1992).
- Presently, I am Director of Data and Technology for the Salisbury Township School District in PA.
- Prior to my current position, I was an Instructional Technology Specialist in the East Penn School District for seven years, and a choral/general music teacher for twelve. I began my work in East Penn in 1987.
- From 1993-2002, I served as the Chair of the Music Department.
- I was also the Online AP Music Theory instructor for AcademyPA.
- I founded and directed Emmaus Chamber Harmony for nine years. The group disbanded in June 2005. Pictures can be viewed at the link below.
- I have musically directed and produced many theater productions (H.M.S. Pinafore, Once Upon a Mattress, The Hobbit, Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof, Annie Get Your Gun, The Wizard of Oz, Oklahoma, Peter Pan, Bye, Bye Birdie, Really Rosie, Free to Be, You and Me, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and The Fantasticks.) I have also been the Music Director or Conductor for Emmaus High School Productions of Les Miserable (2008), Aida (five 2007 Freddy Awards, including Outstanding Orchestra) Fiddler on the Roof, Fame, Footloose, The Wiz, Once On This Island (Freddy Award for Outstanding Chorus) as well as Civic Theatre of Allentown's Three Penny Opera In Concert and The Rocky Horror Show.
- I am also Musical Director for the Freddy Awards, a televised program designed to recognize high school musical theatre in the Lehigh Valley. We have received a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award for the 2004 telecast, and a nomination for the 2005 show.
- Other interests: theater, music technology, the Internet, teaching other teachers the many educational uses of technology, running, visiting New York City to see theater, designing web pages and video editing.
- I maintain two weblogs, one for professional interests and one for personal interests like music and theatre. My Photoblog contains pictures from various events including a trip to Italy in 2007.
